
Dr. Outtrim has a diverse educational background.
After serving in the United States Navy and being honorably discharged in 1983, Dr. Outtrim began his education at Chapman
University in San Diego, CA, where he received an Associate of Arts. He then continued his education at the University
of Houston, receiving his B.A. and B.S. degrees in 1988, when he also graduated Cum Laude. During this latter
program, Dr. Outtrim attended a Rice University Summer Spanish Program in Seville, Spain.
Upon completion of these programs, Dr. Outtrim immediately
began his medical education at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in San Antonio, Texas, which he completed in
1992. Upon graduation, he filled an Internship, also at the UTHSC in San Antonio. Dr. Outtrim then proceeded
to San Francisco, California to fill a Cardiology Fellowship at the California Pacific Medical Center, which he completed
in 1998.
Throughout his education, Dr. Outtrim has authored numerous
research abstracts and publications centered in the field of cardiology. He has also presented numerous lectures.
Dr. Outtrim holds impressive honors, including Honors in
Clinical Externship, National Dean's List, Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities, Shell Oil Scholarship for Academic
Excellence, and was a member of the Alpha Epsilon Delta Premed Honor Society.
He is licensed to practice medicine in Utah, Texas, and
California, and is licensed with Nuclear Cardiology Radioactive Substances.
Dr. Outtrim is also Board Certified by the Certification
Board of Nuclear Cardiology, the American Board of Internal Medicine, and the American Board of Internal Medicine - Cardiology.
He is a member of the American Society of Nuclear Cardiologists, the American College of Cardiology, and the American College
of Physicians.
Dr. Outtrim is married and has two children. He enjoys
racquetball, tennis, and running. He has competed in numerous marathons and triathlons. Needless to say, he practices
what he preaches medically!
