Fatigue

Fatigue is a common complaint by many patients.  Fatigue may be a sign of heart problems.  Potential causes are:
  • Angina, or "blocked arteries"- this may occur without chest pain
  • Valve Disease or Valve Infection
  • Low Thyroid
  • Anemia
  • Sleep Apnea
  • Malnutrition
  • Deconditioning
  • Other systemic diseases

What tests should be done for unexplained fatigue?

Depending on symptoms and risk factors, your cardiologist may order a stress test, echocardiogram, sleep study, or blood work.
